OVERVIEW

Codenames is a word association game where two teams compete to be the first to find all of their spies.

HOW TO PLAY

A five by five grid of words is placed in the centre of the table. One spymaster from each team then gets access to a map showing where all of the spies are. In turn each spymaster gives a one-word clue that can then point their team to one or multiple words on the grid, avoiding opposing team spies and the assassin.

The game plays for approximately 15 minutes.

ARE THERE EXPANSIONS TO THIS GAME?

There are no expansions, but there are a number of versions of Codenames including Duet, Pictures, XXL, Simpsons, Marvel, Disney and Deep Undercover (adult content).
